This was the document included at the end of the general handout from this conference. In response to some questions we had been getting about discipline rules and the role of ALTs in classroom discipline, we created this guideline of what constitues legal punishment in Japan. This is only meant to be an explanation of the rules, not a mandate to actually use any of these techniques.
